Lansbury doesn't let character age get in the way of her talent. I saw the You Tube footage where she plays youthful roles and yet, she also played Ruth, a much older woman in the Papp's film version of THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE. What a contrast in settings!

I dunno. She's got this big kewpie-doll quality to her. That quality is positively sickening with Bernadette Peters; and somewhat raw for Lansbury. I like her best as Jessica Fletcher in MURDER SHE WROTE.

AMAZING that she can hold one leg up and balance on a high heel with the other ... TWICE . And then do the SPLITS! You go, Angela!!! Stunning performance!

This is absolutely WONDERFUL! Anyone who only knows Angela Lansbury as an older woman on TV's "Murder She Wrote" are in for a great shock when they watch this. Angela Lansbury could certainly sing and dance up a storm when she was young!
I love that part where she does the SPLITS - oh my gosh, this is great camp! Love it!

Thank you for posting this video. The quality is excellent. I truly adore this lady and never realised just how talented and versatile she is. How I wish that such class and talent could entertain us forever. Thankfully we have such memorable performances such as these. Angela - you are cherished and appreciated so much after such a distinguised career. Long may it continue.

great clip love angela performing this she shows a great deal of her singing and dancing talents here, and she is 40 or so here what youthfulness she really is one of the best and now still on broadway working at 84 simply incredible
I love this. I watch it over and over. She was very limber, a wonderful dancer, and singer. And I'll bet she could STILL do that! My favorite part is when she slips into the splits on the floor of the stage. I hadn't known she could dance so extravagantly until I became aware of this particular performance. Long may this lady reign!!!

What is so wonderful apart from the performance itself is her joy in the reception for her own performance at the end. She seems almost embarassed at her own abilities. What an inspirational woman.
