Shigmo

We caught the Shigmo festival in Chaudi, Canacona, Goa, Inida.
It is a full moon festival in March, a Goan expression on spring. Shigmo festival happens after Goa carnival. The parade features groups singing, drumming and dancing. This year all I saw were the men performing which is a shame as one year the women sang and danced and it was very beautiful. The floats depict Hindu mythological characters from epic Ramayana and Mahabharata. It is a lot like a carnival, many people perform and participate. The atmosphere is electric and full of so much energy. The floats get better every year. Here are a few things we saw this year.
