Wednesday, July 1st, 2009.Normal pitched Thunderbolt 1000T located at the entrance to Sand Island park. Sound recording was done approximately 150 feet away from the siren in true binaural sound. There is a U.S. Coast Guard station nearby, and you can hear an HH-65 Dauphin fly by shortly after the siren stops.

  • i hear another thunderbolt start up to

  • @CWM480 I think it's supposed to be black.

  • wow that thing is rusted to H*LL but sounds good

    its not even yellow anymore.

  • every thunderbolt deserves a flyby111 lol

  • Hey great video.

  • Really? Quite surprising.

  • The chopper is always single phase, whether or not the blower or rotator motor is as well. More than likely the collector rings in the base of the chopper tube have gotten carbon built up on them and is causing the brushes that ride it to lose contact for a very brief second at certain points on the rings.

  • So they don.t sound these during Tornado Warnings in Hawaii because of confusion i am also surprised that that these Thunderbolts are still around now with the North Korea Threat do you think you can record on of these sirens during a real activation

  • i think that this siren might be a singal phase or it could have some brushes problems it jumps two times just a gess
