This is a video of our cat Momo. He is fighting a possible brain tumor and had been walking like this for almost a week. We gave him steroids which within 6 days he started walking normally again. I then took him to the vet just for a weight check (because he had lost so much weight from not eating) when we returned home this is how he was again. We are trying to determine if it was a seizure or some sort of stroke from the stress of the visit.

  • Unfortunately Momo (cats name) passed away within a week after this video was taken. He became unable to get up and walk and began vomiting and urinating on himself.

  • how long has your cat been in this condition? the dr said my cat had ataxia but i dont believe its accurate. what tests has your cat had so far to suggest a stroke, seizure or tumor issue? my cat is less than a year old and the dr says its unlikely. my kitty has limited mobility and is sort of crawling and not fully extending its limbs. the cat is calm and the vet says hes not in any pain. im going to wait another day and then i have some serious choices to make. this sucks so much

  • @am42085n Ataxia is not a diagnosis, it is a medical term for the symptoms your cat has. I say the first thing to mention and look up is the Vestibular Disease. It is common and will go away. Please read my response to am42085 below. Good luck. I know seeing our pets like this is so difficult.

  • i came home today and my cat appeared to be disoriented and walking funny. the doctor said that he thinks the cat got into some type of human medication. he gave my cat fluids underneath the skin and says that it should flush out any possible toxins. im terrified that my cat may have had a stroke or some kind of underlying problem. ive searched high and low and i dont believe my cat ingested anything..im so worried :-(

  • @am42085n We wish you the best of luck.

  • @am42085n The first thing to look up is Vestibular Disease. It is common and usually goes away. Keep a close eye on the cat, especially if you are sure he didn't get into anything. If he continues or gets worse go back in to the dr. Our Momo's condition rapidly got worse. The Friday before Easter he couldn't even stand. We sadly had to put him down. I now believe his tumor was cancer. I wish you the best of luck.

  • This is the way we all die! We ought to care about one another like it's going out of style! Cause we might! I wish I knew how to step up and get my hands dirty helping more. I mean what am I doing that's so fucking important anyway? It'd be my greatest pleasure to help in any way at all if I could. I'm not just going to sit around and do nothing while we all die in such evil ways! Yes evil! This is evil up close my friends. Let no-one tell you things aren't this bad. Most our meds don't work.

  • it looks as though your cat had a possible reaction to a flea treatment. if you have used Farnam, Hartz, Sergeant’s or Sumitomo flea treatments, it's likely your cat became sick and died from one of these products. sad to hear your cat died. i lost mine a few years ago due to a urinary tract blockage. :(

  • Poor thing :(

  • Sorry to hear about Momo. :( My cat got sick in August last year and soon after started walking in circles. The vet said it wasn't Vestibular Disease because that goes away fairly quickly. Kiki had trouble controlling her bowels & also urinated seemingly without realizing. The doc gave her Prednisone &Clindamycin. It helped a lot, but now she's been doing poorly for the past 4 days. She keeps falling & she has tremors throughout the day.:( I'm grateful 4 the extra time we've had with her. :)

  • that cat looked like a kangaroo

  • @Chele1097 I am so so sorry, tonight we found our cat unable to stand, his head leaning off to one side, I feel he has had a stroke, my other half doesn't trust the vets where we live as our last cat died and they couldn't even say what the cause was even after test after test. I pray he will come good, all we can do is offer his TLC and pray, if our vets were good I wouldn't hesitate to take him to one but they are just money hungry here. :(

  • Is he ok????

  • We lost our Seamus a year ago last September. He'd gone from being a 20 tub of kitty to skin and bones inside of a month, and we're still heartbroken about it. He had FIP and hit him so quickly that there wasn't much we could do for him except baby the daylights out of him and hold him in our arms as he slipped away. The single worst thing about owning a pet is knowing that one day you'll lose them....I miss my Seamus to this day, and will continue to do so for the rest of my life.
