This prop is used in our Web Series, http://www.monstercops.com

This video tutorial was re-edited and submitted to Indy Mogul when they were searching for a new host for Backyard FX. Got me to be one of the finalists. Special thanks to Indy Mogul and Erik Beck for the opportunity. Check out that video here:

Which also features a test film at the end.

Make your own Book Of The Dead so you can raise evil spirits and possess your friends and family.

  • hey man i made my necronomicon today and it looks pretty fantastic. i painted it with a mixture of paint and liquid latex and once that dried i put an additional layer of latex by itself. the latex was flesh tone and it both looks and feel like real skin. im gatering print outs of pages now and im going to try to figure out how to place them in the book. anyway the cover is done and looks fantastic. if u plan on making another i suggest the latex. it was an amazing addition.

  • @shrklvr94 Just watched your video. WOW! Excellent work! I did consider latex but never got around to trying it. So glad you did it. Now we can see how awesome the results are. Really, it looks awesome. Ok, definitely gotta get back to work on an updated one. Going to try it with latex this time around. Thank you so much for posting.

  • I made one following this video, it turned out pretty good but I can still make out the edges of the duct tape :( I super glued a DVD case inside and put my trilogy in it. I also want to do the pop up thing too, but can't figure out how to do it.

  • @Woodogg18 Awesome. I'd love to see a vid of what your final product looks like. I'm probably going to do a follow up video to this and show how to do the pop-up portion.

  • I've been planning to make one for a long time now. I'm going to use leather. I think the leather will be even creepier.

  • @Beatnikzombie Oh wow. I would love to see a video of that.

  • @prejusapatrick AND one more thing! after u powder the latex, if ur having trouble getting it off, misting it with water and dabbing the water off with a paper towel or rag will remove any excess powder from the book.

  • @prejusapatrick also building up more duct tape so its more wrinkled and thicker gave it a better look and gave more of a fleshy give under the latex. also with the latex, the sealer u used isnt needed on the cover. unless u purposely peel it off it isnt going anywhere. just powder it thoroughly once it dries to take away stickiness and shine.

  • ooooooooh! the necronomicon in chocolate! XD

  • what better way to say I love you with a book of the dead!

  • Nice. Wish I would of thought of that.!! I made mine with tissue paper and rubber latex

  • Hey, sorry but what did you seal the book with after you burnt the edges?
