  • first exchange from nigerians was excellent, then Christy Opara (as always) had gone too fast, and stepped on the line passing the stick to Onyali.

  • @wookieboychew YES ITS MARIE-JOSE PEREC

  • These the days when Germany and eastern europe was doping heavily.

  • @jhecht424 I also believe that this gold for Ashford made her the first three time relay gold medalist.

  • that is Evelyn Ashfold a the 1st Leg for the USA! one of the greatest sprinter 100 m all of time..

  • @jhecht424 Well i dont really know if devers run the relay in 1996 bcos i have not watch the video.(if you have it post it).But in my opinion Devers is a better starter from the blocks than any other leg.In 1997 she run a good anchor leg bcos Jones, igner miller and Gaines run very well and set her up in a comfortable lead by time she got the baton,so she only has to cruise to the finish line.Any i still miss her for her great sportmanship

  • @MrFlexybee Regarding 1993, yes Gwen Torrence should've been the anchor that year..Regarding Devers, she would end up running a fantastic 2nd leg in the 4X100 at the 1996 olympics

  • @jhecht424 you are right though. But Devers had a little injury after the famous fall in the 110m hurdles, that was why she was not on the relay team. But i think Devers will be a good starter that the 2nd leg bcos the following year in Sttugart she could not handle privalova on that straight walk way as well.

  • @pointhimout Esther Jones' slow starting is what caused the US to be DQ'd in the prelims at the '91 worlds as her and Carlette Guidry botched their exchange. Gail Devers would've been a far better pick for the backstretch in this relay.

  • Pobre Juliet Cuthbert (poor Juliet), i love you

  • again, the 1st two legs set the tone. Evelyn ran all up on Esther, who should've taken off faster --almost causing them to lose. Carlette Guidry ran 3rd.

  • Gwen Torrance pulled it out. But - Evelyn Ashford ran an awesome first leg. One last Gold medal for a true athlete.
