LUNA SEA debuted in 1991 under Yoshiki's label Extasy record. Extasy records are not an indie label in a sense that X-Japan released their own albums thru the same label and given their already huge fame and popularity in 1991in 1992, they were signed by MCA Victor (a.k.a univesal music).

indie takes place way before 1991. The band was formed by J and Inoran who gathered Ryu, Sugi and Shinya in sometime before 1989. 1989 onwards they started playing in livehse and record demos.
