1987 - Cloud 9

THAT'S WHAT IT TAKES

And now it begins to shine
And you found the eyes to see
Each little drop at dawn of ev'ry day

Your smile, it comes back to me
And whatever you may say
Don't let it stop, never fade away

As we got to get out in this world together, oh
Doesn't really matter if we start to make some changes, oh

If that's what it takes (that's what it takes)
Then I've got to be strong (that's what it takes)
Don't want to be wrong
If that's what it takes

The closer I get (that's what it takes)
Into that open door (what it takes)
I've got to be sure
If that's what it takes

And now that it's shining through
And you can see all this world
Don't let it stop, never fade away

If we got to be in this life forever, oh-oh
Then we'd better be taking all the chances, oh oh

If that's what it takes (that's what it takes)
Then I've got to be strong (that's what it takes)
Don't want to be wrong
If that's what it takes

The closer I get (that's what it takes)
Into that open door (what it takes)
I've got to be sure
If that's what it takes

That's what it takes, that's what it takes
That's what it takes, that's what it takes
(That's) what it takes, that's what it takes
That's what it takes, (that's) what it takes
That's what it takes, oh, that's what it takes

(repeat and fade:)
Oh, that's what it takes

  • Those guitar solos make me miss you even more George.

  • Hare Krishna!

  • This is such an amazing album...bought it when I was in high school, and now have the cd...never get tired of it :-)

  • This song should've been a single.

  • God bless George!

  • To ATeam192-Gary Wright is a singer songwriter who had some modest success in the 70s with an album called "DREAMWEAVER". He was an old friend of George's. They once performed together on the Dick Cavett show. Also of note..Clapton does the lead solo at the end of this song. I think Cloud Nine was Harrison's best solo album as a whole.

  • To ATeam192-Gary Wright is a singer songwriter who had some modest success in the 70s with an album called "DREAMWEAVER". He was an old friend of George's. They once performed together on the Dick Cavett show. Also of note..Clapton does the lead solo at the end of this song.

  • To ATeam192-Gary Wright performed the hit "Dreamweaver". Nice LP.. Also had a song on there called "My Love Is Alive"..Very Good. He was an old friend of George's. Another note-This Clapton doing the nlesd solo on this song.

  • Just go to 2:51 onwards and wank

  • I could listen to this song over, over, over, over ,and over again ! The guitar solo at the end is so Harrison , absolutly awsome !
