Both are great, but what gives chris the nudge for me is that he's more aware of playing in different modes while rapidly interchanging between them to make for a more versatile style of shred; giving him the overall finesse...

You're welcome for the suggestions we'll definitely keep in touch but I listen to alot of Jason Becker as do you. I have 3 jason becker t-shirts and a hoodie he's just the man to me. He's unmatched in the arena of neo-classical shred. also Joey Tafolla (Jag Panzers 1st guitarist) he's amazing. Necrophagist, Jeff Loomis ofcourse, Alan Holdsworth and alotta jazz fusion and a Brizillian power metal band called AngrA but all my inluences are just too broad to mention on Youtube.

Dude, I could care less about videos, it is amazing what one can learn to ignore when they want to hear great guitar. Do you have any videos of your playing?

Wow thats a good question man, because Rusty Cooley is like the king of speed and hot licks and while Broderick has lots of speed and precision his foundation is rooted in classical & jazz and his style is crowned with overall sophistication. So i dono man lol thats tough...two different styles there but both have amazing chops & technique...Also [WARNING] the video for take to the sky is very stupid, but the actual song is amazing.

I read Dave's biography and he pretty much said he was intimidated by Marty. I just listened to Iron Eagle. Wow, the mixing was bad, but the solo was absolutely amazing. I'm checking out more. I just wish he would get a fire under his ass. As strictly a technician do you think he is as good as Rusty? As far as technique I think they are the best 2 I have ever heard

And yes you are right about Dave; I feel the same way you do. Dave is a decent player but his skill level is only set @ a certain bar of mostly power chords & pentatonics. Going back to Marty Friedmans style which was off of Daves radar at the time; Dave asked him could they "go back to basics of thrash roots" meaning pretty much saying.."hey Marty I can't keep up with you and your style, would you mind Regressing it a bit for me"? and thats when Marty said...Enough I'm goin' to Japan.
