Her name is not Ohlet, her name is pronounced, wall-let. It's a French name.

Well I'm one of a long line of Ouellettes and none of us pronounce it as "olet". She's probably just tired of it being mispronounced and is just making it easier.
In New England or Canada people usually say it just fine. But anywhere else, forget it.
I live in Florida and I've been called olet, owelet, olay, quelet. etc. In 25 living here and there's been only 2 or three people that said it correctly and it's because the are Ouellettes themselves or they know someone with the name.

eh...not necessarily. My best friend's last name is Ouellette, and its pronounced "Oh-Let". So it all just depends.

You realize she said it the same way he did right? Seems like he got it correct to me. That is, unless she's unable to pronounce her own name.
