  • Amen brothers in Christ I like that

  • @b1foschiefs You have not answered how the thief could obey a command not yet given. What was your question: How men were justified prior to the cross? Answer: The Law of Moses, written for the Jews, only to last until the time of Christ. In that Law, the blood of animals was required to atone for the sins of the people. Those sacrifices were temporary. Jesus was born under this law (Gal. 4:4) and kept it until His death to fulfill it (Mt. 5:17). It is finished (Gal. 3:24-25; Eph. 2:14-15).

  • @b1foschiefs There is only one baptism valid today (Eph. 4:5) in the new covenant which followed Christ's death on the cross (Heb. 9:15-18). The Ephesians in Acts 19 were baptized into John's baptism (v. 3) but were then baptized into Christ (v. 5) as Paul instructed. You can hold to your "thief on the cross" salvation and your "John's baptism" as valid today but since you hold to the old covenant, you to subject to all of it (Gal. 5:3-4) even though you likely pick and choose which to keep.

  • @vhopson Strawmen, this is why I dont argue with you guys. Bad forms of argumentation and an unwillingness to reason. You have yet to answer questions I asked, instead you have cited the same scriptures completely. I am sorry that that is all you have, and I pray that God will grant you His saving knowledge lest you be led into the works of your own righteousness, and your own holiness and preservation.(2 Tim 3:5) I refuse to argue circles with you.

  • @vhopson Oh, how convenient. Newsflash, baptism was taking place before the the crucifixion. And you keep referencing a Mark 16 which doesn't support your view at all. To answer your question, the thief believed the command, he repented and believed. He was saved, and is now in paradise with Jesus.Ahh, now you have made my point,"being God, He had that power."That just about sums up my argument as to Gods power to give faith, repentance to whom He will, and baptism being an ordinance fo the church

  • @b1foschiefs Yes, you are a Baptist (unknown to the Bible), a member of the Baptist Church (unknown to the Bible), and believe Baptist doctrine (Mt. 15:9). The name you wear individually and your church wears is a name originated by men. Thus, you are a member of a denomination (1 Cor. 1:10-13), a division that is condemned. I am only a Christian (Acts 11:26, 26:28; 1 Peter 4:16), added by the Lord (Acts 2:47) to the one body (Eph. 4:4) of Christ (Romans 16:16; 1 Cor. 12:27; Acts 20:28). B/C/V

  • @b1foschiefs 1 Peter 3:21 does not mention hearing, believing, repenting or confession. We must accept the sum of what saves. The thief on the cross lived under the old covenant for the new covenant did not begin until Christ died on the cross (Heb. 9:15-18). Jesus commanded baptism to be saved in Mark 16:16, after His resurrection. Tell me: How could the thief obey a command not yet given? Further, the thief is not the only person Jesus forgave while on earth. Being God, He had that power.

  • @vhopson You are forcing your own order on these. First they believed and repented, and then they were baptized. The command for baptism did not always follow the command to believe and repent, or to just believe, or to just repent.(Mark 1:15)(Acts 17:30)(Acts 3:19)(Luke 17:50) and many more! There are numerous instances of salvation where baptism is left out, but you will not allow yourself to see that. The thief on the cross, was he saved?

  • @vhopson So tell me how men were saved in the old covenant. Was it by works? Was it baptism, circumcision? I will be willing to expose your error if you are willing to listen. But I will not allow you to continue to throw your proof scriptures at me without harmonizing the entire bible. Jehovas witnesses can do the same thing but they are not right, do you believe Jesus is God sir? I am sure you do, so dont use the same sort of argumentation as those heretics do.

  • @vhopson Well it is clear you are not understanding what I believe. Are you so wrapped up in your own lies that you cant even hear anymore? You still have not explained what you meant by denominational.I am baptist, I am not a denomination at all and have alot more proof than you to back my claim than you. It is you that is adding works to salvation,I know your doctrine. It raises many questions, but I have been there before with you guys and you refuse to harmonize scripture, and I hate strawmen
