"The Long Day Closes" was written by Arthur Sullivan around 1868, on the touching lyrics of Henry Chorley, a text that surely stirs strong emotions and leads to meditation on life and death.
(You can find more information about the song on Wikipedia:

I first discovered this piece with the choir I'm currently singing with, Coenobium Vocale, in a version written for men's voices (Tenor1 Tenor2 Bariton Bass) and arranged by one of my favourite vocal groups: the King's Singers.

I started working on the four vocal parts in april 2010, as a personal study, and the recordings remained there, unfinished, for quite a long time.
Then, after being contacted by Julien Neel (trudbol) for a collab - check him out, he's incredible!! - I decided it was time to finish it, and release it with a video that suited the music.

Enjoy!

  • Please take this in the context of my being really moved by your beautiful performance: I would enjoy it even more if you could airbrush out the tendency to swell on every held note. But you are in good company - Sylvia Sass, for example, did it too.

  • @jd7x7jd well, thanks for your kind comment, and I'll sure consider your helpful tip in the future. It's always great to have feedback ;)
