This song is lodged in my brain, proof that music is an art form! I also got it with the new Uncut, and I never buy magazines, but I got it for the Tom Waits interview.

Clearly this is the beautiful spawn of Leonard Cohen and Marianne Faithfull, with a bit of Piaf and Screamin' Jay Hawkins (minus scream) in the mix. Let's just let her be an original. This is really unique. Wow.

@ElviraInYourFace This is EXACTLY what just happened for me! =cD I usually don't like compilation CDs either, but for Tom....and what a jewel there was to be found in there. Jesca is awesome and I'm totally checking out more of her music.

Lhasa De Sela would like to know about this........
I bought the newest edition of "Uncut" magazine because of the interview with Tom Waits. Normally, I don't listen to the attached CDs because, let's face it, mostly the music is kinda strange. But since it was Tom Waits' Juke Box I took a shot at it. And now I think it's one of the best decisions I've ever made when it comes to expanding my cultural horizon! I all of the sudden discovered this amazing artist and she was everything I didn't know I was looking for in music! Thanks, Tom and Jesca!
