The video where i had to wake up at 7 in the morning to get to my heart cath (This is a procedure to examine blood flow to the heart and test how well the heart is pumping. A doctor inserts a thin plastic tube (catheter) (KATH'eh-ter) into an artery or vein in the arm or leg. From there it can be advanced into the chambers of the heart or into the coronary arteries.

This test can measure blood pressure within the heart and how much oxygen is in the blood. It's also used to get information about the pumping ability of the heart muscle. Catheters are also used to inject dye into the coronary arteries. This is called coronary angiography (an"je-OG'rah-fe) or coronary arteriography (ar-te"re-OG'rah-fe). Catheters with a balloon on the tip are used in the procedure called coronary angioplasty (commonly referred to as percutaneous coronary intervention [PCI]). Catheterization of the heart may also be done on infants and children to examine for congenital (kon-JEN'ih-tal) heart defects.

I had a heart transplant 13 years ago. I just had a stent put in 2 weeks ago.

Hey travis how you doing man last time i had it done i had so much fluid in my chest that it took them 5 times opening up my neck to get to the heart, lol like you said bro helps to keep a smile on your face and have a positive outlook. I go back in January stay strong brother.

I have had so many heart caths. But at least your in at a childrens hospital. I have to see an adult cardiologist, I hate going cause all the old people in there ask questions or just look at me oddly. I wish I could still see the one guy that I have always seen. But, he retired :( I am much older than you, (31) but, still I'm in the waiting room with all 80 year olds. LOL
