  • People are looking at these ads and thinking, "these people are fat so they can't be starving!" WRONG. The poorest people are the ones who consume McDonald's $1 menu because junk food is CHEAP and gourmet food is EXPENSIVE. Vegetables (esp organic veggies) are much more expensive than cheap meat. Imagine you only have $5/day in your pocket, you will eat nothing but $1 cheeseburgers and fries. So think again before you judge.

  • @chumpion Your a fucking moron. A small bag of carrots, a potato, one bag of Ramon Noodles and a FREE glass of tap water is much cheaper than buying McDonalds. People are lazy which is why they are fat. If they were working 12 hours a day in a labor intensive job, they wouldn't be fat. Look at Mexican that just came into the country. They have a few cents to their name, and they work all day in fields... they are all fit as a fiddle. Open your eyes BUD.

  • @TheMooseofBattle In Georgia too. People who's salary isn't high barely afford eating in McDonald's.

  • In Sweden, It's pretty much the exact opposite. If I only had $5/day I'd be able to perhaps buy some carrots and potatoes. Since fruits and vegetables are a lot cheaper than McDonalds.

  • @chumpion I agree with you - junk food is cheap... but it's not the only cheap food alternative. when I first moved to NY and didn't have much money to feed myself I would get some ramen noodles and some cans of tuna. Rice is also cheap and you can make it last. I think some of the help these people can benifit from, in adition to being provided with meal assistance, is educating themselves regarding what they put into their bodies and how to get it on a low budget.

  • @LACraig621 That's exactly it; it's a lose-lose situation for them. People need to stop being so insensitive and stop making fun of the less fortunate. These people may not be starving per se but they can't afford better quality food. Junk food is extremely inexpensive in the US, so the only option for them is to buy burgers, fries, hot dogs, donuts, etc. People who have jobs at least have a choice; they can choose to live un/healthy. Poor unemployed people don't have the privilege of choice

  • Thanks to Feeding America. What is congress doing about it. God bless America.

  • And for those who think that poor people in America are lazy? Try eating CHEAP food for 2 weeks... then come back and tell us how you feel. How motivated are you? How much energy do you have? I have experienced it first hand. The quality of food we eat contributes greatly to how productive we are and can be. THAT is why we NEED our food banks, and when you donate, don't give the junk... give them the good food that everyone needs to LIVE, not just survive.

  • One thing that people clearly don't understand, is the difference between being hungry and suffering from hunger. We can stuff our faces with junk, and we won't feel hungry, but we will be missing out on many important nutrients that our bodies and brains need... thus, we would suffer from hunger. Malnutrition is the worst enemy of the poor, in this country and abroad.

  • Check out our channel! very cool videos of us volunteering!

  • @UpstandingFC

Nice that you would take an opportunity to bash anyone in the public eye who can help these people in dire situations.
