Binghamton University hosted the fourth annual Invitational Iron Pour in the sculpture studios of the Fine Arts Building. Sculpture students and faculty from eight other college programs, including Ramapo State University of New Jersey, Syracuse University and the Salem Art Works, poured over 100 molds, with three furnaces firing. The process involves pouring red-hot iron, raised to temperatures of more than 2,700 degrees, into special molds to create sculptures. This event was supported by the Rosefsky Memorial Visiting Artist Endowment, the Harpur College Dean's Office, the University Provost's Office, Sodexo Campus Services, Ben Weitsman and Sons, Tonawanda Coke Company, Harbison-Walker Refractories Company and the Dim Spark SFB fund.
