  • nice ss i want those central exit exhaust for my 96 ss. it sounds good too the lt4 ss are rare. badass car.

  • @IDontHateOnCars your probably right, I was talking about the Standard 2002 SS. I'd say they could get that with a SLP Air Intake Set Up and the SLP Loud Mouth Exhaust.

  • @thackerzf6 2002 ss could do up to 325bhp with slp exhaust option

  • Then they changed it up a little for the last year "2002" The 35th Anniversary had a 2nd Generation LS-1 that had the following Specs:

    Engines:

    3.8 V6 200 bhp.

    Z28: LS1 5.7 V8 310 bhp @ 5200 rpm, 335 lb-ft @ 4000 rpm.

    SS: LS1 5.7 V8 320 bhp @ 5200 rpm, 345 lb-ft @ 4400 rpm.

That was the end of the Camaro until 2010, and I'm really not all that familiar with the new ones. I couldn't wait 8 years so I switched to Covettes.

  • They never Put the V-6 3400 or 3800 in the SS or Z28 model Camaros.

The 1998-2001Camaros had the following Motors:

    Engines:

    3.8 V6 200 bhp.

    Z28: LS1 5.7 V8 305 bhp @ 5200 rpm, 320 lb-ft @ 4400 rpm.

    SS: LS1 5.7 V8 320 bhp @ 5200 rpm, 345 lb-ft @ 4400 rpm.

  • The 2nd Generation LT-1 used in the Corvette to give it a advantage in the motor department over the Camaro. The 2nd Generation LT-1 made 305bhp and put down 350 lb-ft.

The 1997 SS with the 2nd Generation LT-1 put down 310bhp and more torque do to the upgraded air Intake and exhaust. Chevrolet did make 100 SS Camaro's with the 350 bhp and 385 lb-ft LT-4 that Corvette had been using in there Grand Sport Corvette which made it the fastest F-Body ever Built.

  • In 1995 Chevrolet introduced there 3800 Series V-6 to the Base Model Camaro and the RS. The 3.8l V-6 took place of the 3.4l V-6 that had been used in previous years.

!997 was the first year of the SS Camaro. Because this was going to be the last year of the LT1 Motor in the Camaro and it had leaked that they were putting a 305bhp LS-1 under the hood in the 1998 they decided to keep there 1997 sales up that they would use the 2nd Generation LT-1 in the 30th Anniversary Camaro----------

  • I have been a Camaro Fanatic for years. I have a 1997 Camaro Z28 and a 2003 Z06 405HP Corvette. I thought I'd help out verick38 on the Motors used In the Camaro's

The 1993 Camaro had the Original LT-1 5.7l V-8 That made 275 bhp @ 5200 rpm, 325 lb-ft @ 2400 rpm. This motor was not equipped with a M.A.F.S. and it had a much lower Red Line than the later LT-1.

    The 1994-1996 Camaro Z28 had a 1st Generation LT-1 that made 285bhp @ 6250rpm, 375 lb-ft @ 2500 rpm. This motor turned 6250rpm.

  • this song sucks need to hear the car
