u can just use pvc glue and primer, it actually chemically welds the pvc together so it is completely water proof

I have never checked to see if it floats. I would guess that it does since it is plumbing pvc and should be air tight. HHHMMM... As long as the weight of the tube and rod are not too much. I will check when I get a chance. Thanks!
