2011 GREY CUP PARADE Part One of Two

Grey Cup Parade, 2011, in Vancouver on 26 November, 2011. Part 1 of 2 of the entire parade with some minor edits. This is the first part of the parade held in downtown Vancouver on a very wet and rainy morning... but thousands came out to show their support. some friends and I were part of the parade. I was hoping I could get a copy of part 1 just in case you ever take it down. Seeing my friend Chris clowing around in the Earl Grey costume kills me every time.

@gypsysg By chance, I still have the Grey Cup clips... I shoot so much stuff I don't usually keep it all in my computer. You can use a YouTube downloader to retrieve the video or let me know at what time he appears and I'll look for that particular clip for you while it's still on my computer. I shoot a lot of stuff and have many thousands of gigabytes of video but the Grey Cup clips are in its own file still and not too hard to find.

My concern is who was there to pick up the horse shit in the even the horses took a dump in the middle of the parade?

Now, was that a Chinese guy dressed up in a scottish kilt marching behind the Navy Marine Bus at 9:43? He's clearly NOT Scottish nor Irish, what is he doing wearing this? Is he a Macdonald? MacPherson?

@doubleestark There was a tractor doing pooper scooper duties. In order to keep the video at a reasonable length I edited out spaces between bands and floats, a couple of Nissan cars and the pooper scooper. The street was pretty clean. I learned more about horses too. One outrider advised me not to raise my camera above the horses head level... they don't like that, and the Police horse quite literally pushed me out of the way with its nose when I tried to walk between them.

Butch, you are lucky those Cops on horses didn't pepper spray you as they rode by. Just as a precaution.

@khunopie Funny. Actually, the horse wouldn't let me pass between it and the other horses and pushed me aside with its nose. It was a REALLY big horse. Then the cop said "you can't go between the horses". Also I learned, when some more horses went by, not to raise my camera above the horses heads when I was close... one of the riders told me. Now I know. I knew you should never approach a horse from behind already.

@doubleestark I hope you are not stereotyping anyone of their skin colour at 9:43. That man may be an ethnic Chinese (or Japanese or Korean, you cannot tell for sure) but may have long immigrated to the UK or Ireland and have established citizenship from that country.

Or better yet.....you are not Irish and I am not Chinese.....we are all CANADIAN!

The proper term of reference is that he is wearing the ceremonial dress of a Regimental unit as evidenced by the colours on the baldric in front and is likely a serving member of the Armed Forces. He is not dressed up; this is not Hallowe'en you moron. First of all, one doesn't have to be Scottish or of Scottish descent to wear highland regalia. Your comments are offensive to some and bordering on being racist or at least racial profiling. Do some research before you make ignorant comments.

@doubleestark Since when does ethnicity have anything to do with regimental or ceremonial dress? It was a highland unit thus the kilts. Last time I checked Aryan units did not exist in the Canadian Forces.
