  • how did u get it to work? I have the same projector and the boxee does not work, it only shows the loading screen then blank, no source found.

Called support and they told me they don't recommend connecting the boxee box to a projector...

    What firmware do you have?

  • @valivalii

I had the newest update at the time. I did however have this boxee connected to a tv before I moved it to the projector.

I have a monoprice hdmi switcher as well. My boxee and sattelite receiver connect to the switcher and then one HDMI cable to the projector.

I recently bought an EPSON 8350 projector, and the Boxee has been working well, except when I try to open Netflix and Vudu. I get a blank screen for those two apps.

I'd recommend trying to connect the box to a tv first.

  • Thanks for posting! Quick question - Does Boxee look up the Movie information from an online database, or does the information/cover/etc. need to be embedded into the video file with some tagging software beforehand?

  • @daversion It does both, if the folder your movies are in contain a jpg of the poster or an nfo file containing the metadata it'll use that, if not it will scan the folder and get all the information needed including the cover and info from IMDB.

  • how does the image quality of the projector compare to a tv? any motion blur?

    thanks

  • @Augnalius

It's hard to tell through a camera, but the projector has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. I only have a 720p projector (Optoma HD65), but the image is sharp and there is no motion blur. I can't imagine what my dream projector (Panasonic AE400U) will look like, but for now all my 1080p rips look nice on my projector.
