Yay, someone agrees with me that Mark Hamill is the best Joker ever!

the scene with harvey saying he's batman is where the movie still gets amazing from what now only good. not the hero gotham needs but the one it deserves. fucking A.

And FINALLY somebody else who thinks Maggie Gylenhaal is attractive. I'm tired of everyone talking about how "incredibly ugly" they think she is just because god forbid she looks a little different from the generic Maxim chick of the month.
And also all of those people who say she's a bad actress have most likely never seen another movie she's been in (besides Donnie Darko), that's just the obnoxious, sexist Batman fandumb as usual.

Other than the fake muscles and eyeshadow that suspiciously disappeared when he removed his mask I quite liked the Batsuit from Burton's Batman fans. At least it looks much closer to how Batman should look than in the Nolan films.
While TDK is great and all, I still think it's overrated and not the flawless masterpiece it's made out to be. I think it has way too much monologue, and spends so much time anaylizing itself when that should be the job of the audience.

I'm turning off YouTube and going over to my DVDs ...

Mmm ok after my 17th viewing of this film I can look back and say it IS a good film that holds up. But not exactly something a sane person might want to own. (I'm not sane)

14 people don't believe in Harvey Dent.

I've seen TDK about 3 times now, with various people, and I don't want to see it again. I don't understand all the mindless, universal praise it gets. It never gives attention to quality character or plot development. There's way too much action, too often, and scenes without action only seem like transitions to more action scenes. It doesn't even have a proper ending; it just stops. And Heath Ledger's Joker didn't strike me as anything special. Batman Begins was far better.

@SavageVandar Over-all I say that I liked this one less than Batman Begins. Sure, BB had Katie Holmes(shudder) as miscast in the role of an already annoying character. But I can compartmentalize her role in BB somewhat and enjoy the brilliance of the rest of the film(still the best DC film since Superman The Movie, IMO and the best Batman film...EVER). But I wouldn't call TDK best of the year or even the summer. To me, Iron Man 1 owns those titles.

I was kinda let down by this film. Don't get me wrong, it's worth seeing for Ledger's performance alone but when you break down what the Joker actually does in the film plot logic kinda goes out the window. It's such an unbelievable house of cards scenario that it makes one's eyes cross. I half expected the Joker in the film to say "You wanna know how I can pull all this stuff off? I slipped the writer's a c-note to give me implausablity powers" when he's talking to Dent at the hospital.
The reason Batman's costume was changed to resemble a more realistic suit of armor reflects the philosophy of this Batman reboot, which has led to it's ultimate success.
It's plain and simple, the main stream audience does NOT want a cartoon-esque protagonist in a movie. This is clearly a stupid psychological barrier, but turning a blind eye to it would result in less revenue.
And while the movie could still maintain a serious tone, Batman's costume could turn off some during the previews.

Remember when Joker burnt that giant ass pile of money in the movie?
I think that the Joker asking for money to kill Batman was mostly to fuck with the mob and make himself known to them.
I don't know. Maybe it's right? Idk.
