It looks like you're being the proton beam.

Not bad, all it's missing is the in-world lighting to go with the bright CG pyrotechnics. The beam casts no light on you or the room around you . However good the CG looks, the eye will pick up on the lack of cast light and this will be detrimental to the effect.
Get yourself a high candlepower flashlight, and point it at some cardboard covered in reflective foil offscreen, and get someone to shine it on you offscreen. You can experiment with the angle and coloured filters to get the best look.
