Aria for trumpet and organ without pedals. Easy to play.
Composed on 30/08/2009 by Jean-Paul Verpeaux.
Scrolling score played by Harmony-Assistant (Myriad online) and CamStudio. Organ Moller-2382-TRP (virtual organ). Bugle played by a friend, sampled by myself and included in the organ as the only stop of the 3rd manual.

  • JP,

I've posted a video response to your piece (please take a look and please allow it to be a video response). Tell me what you think. I've transposed the trumpet line down two octaves so that it could be played on the pedal board. By the way, combining the trumpt line with the manual part makes the piece NOT SO EASY to play ;-) Do you have any more trumpet pieces?

  • Thanks Georges, very beautiful. It is very kind from you to have played and recorded this piece. I have only one or two other pieces for organ and trumpet but I'll write new ones for you. Do you want the trumpet played by the feet ?

  • JP,

A most excellent piece!!! You outdid yourself. Keep up the good work. Looking foward to more pieces;-D 5/5!!!

Hi Georges. Do you mean you want some of my sheets music or you would like I compose more pieces like this one ?

    Merry Xmas

  • JP,

Both actually. I like the trumpet sound and the melody line. This piece does not seem that hard to play manually and the pedal could play the trumpet part. The trumpet could be played with a 4 foot stop and the trumpet part played on the F-clef an octave lower. The pedal part will not be too hard to play.

Merry Xmas & Happy New Year JP

  • OK, I'll write others piece for trumpet & organ, you and many other seem to like it. I do it with a 2 manuals console (or 3 manuals when played by sequencer). In this purpose, I have sampled a bugle with a trumpetist friend, made a sample set and added it to a virtual organ like a new stop. If you want I can edit one of your organs and add this instrument.

    Merry xmas too.

  • Jean-Paul,

    Beautiful piece, nice tempo.

  • incroyable, un seul mot a dire: Magnifique.

  • JP,

From this piece I've learned a lot about upper register playing which is a little different from playing the traditional base lines so, yes, I'd like to have the trumpet line played by the feet.

  • Do you have hearing Verpeaux absolute?
