On the evening of June 4th, 2008, a supercell thunderstorm moved across portions of southwestern Iowa. Several reports of tornadoes were received in conjunction with this storm.

This Level II NEXRAD radar imagery comes from the National Weather Service's Doppler radar site near Omaha, Nebraska. Data is displayed using Storm Alert, Inc.'s "StormLab" software package.

  • It was a tornado-producing storm and did have a tornado warning on it.

  • Nope, the radar is not WHO-TV's. It's the NWS NEXRAD installation outside of Omaha, Nebraska. The data is displayed using "StormLab" by Storm Alert, Inc.

  • what radar program is that?

  • I used to live in red oak althought i dont remember much

  • 0:07 Reminds me of Australia!

  • yup. course down here in oklahoma we can have three of em running at the same time.

  • same here. at least twice.

  • A tell-tale for me, since I'm not that experienced with radar interp., is to notice the "heart shape" of the storm on radar along with an appendage dangling at the bottom. Then the heart shape bows down (a right turn ).....good indicator of significant rotation within the storm. Just a good little rule of thumb.

  • poor silver city got a tornado

  • I assume this is WHO-TV's EEC 1,000,000 watt radar?
