iMac G5 20" Repair (Purchase Date 2005) - Documentary - Part 3 (of 3 part series)

Part 3- I am a total novice. I had no idea how to even go about thinking of repairing my G5 until I went to the Apple store and they told me it'd be about $650.00 dollars (estimate) just to see if it was a power supply problem and that was a risky guess because if it was, it wouldn't even guaranty the rest of the parts would function correctly (video card plus other things) - even coasting me more money. I thought "You gotta be kidding me, man!" They just wanted me to buy a new one -instead. So you know what? I got determined and figured out how to do it myself. Apple G5 computers are a good product, but unfortunately have an expiration date unbeknownst to all mac users because of faulty components - If purchased between the year 2005-2006.

still working on it. i think it may need a new motherboard (logic board), but I just don't know. i will be happy to let you know once i find out. thanks!

i'll look at my receipts and let you know. I didn't have all the tools to do it so i had to buy them all..it would've been cheaper if i had all the right ones to begin with.

no offense, but it is pronounced degradation (deg-ray-shon). other than that, good video series!

This mac is known for so many problems and the graphics is near impossible to fix. The G4s were actually better built than these.
