SEGOVIA PLAYS "MINUET IN A MAJOR" BY FERNANDO SOR AT THE WHITE HOUSE 3-11-79. THIS WAS RECORED IN 1979 ON A BETA MAX RECORDER AND WAS NEVER PLAYED OR SEEN UNTIL 5-2010 SO THE COLOR QUALITY IS NOT GOOD AND THERE IS VIDEO NOISE. ENJOY.
@jaggedsphere Oh yes, it's her! She's in other available videos of Segovia. Have you seen concert performances of Vladimir Horowitz? Wife Wanda is essentially the same. Looking around or chewing on her nails, while the entire audience is screaming at Volodya like a bunch wild wolves! So, it's the same thing!!
@jaggedsphere That was the performer's wife! And young son, Carlos. And he sitting next to Amy Carter - who looks like she would rather be elsewhere...
Thank you so much for posting this series of Segovia/White House videos. The very first time I heard this particular Minuet was of course from a Segovia recording and it inspired me to record my own as well. I'll attach it here and hope you enjoy it.
I love the music of Fernando Sor and Segovia plays it well.

@brtherjohn No! Really? That's surprising! Why does she seem so unhappy? I cant find any other pictures of her.

Ah very good. But who was the sourface who thought applauding the great maestro was beneath her?!
