@theclockstickin I drive past a high school in a poor district every morning and I see what the students wear to school. $100 shoos and $100 jeans hanging half off of their behinds. I am not saying the funding plays no part in performance. I am saying that the problem is multi facetted and we are focusing one only one part of the dilemma. BTW who buys food stamps?

@theclockstickin Adjusted for inflation we spent $1214 (2002 dollars) per student in 1946.By 1955 it was $2345 (2002 dollars), by 1972 $4479. Today we are spending $10,000 per child. So, my question to you would be this, could it be a cultural problem? How many inner city black kids get hassled for “acting white” because they want to make good grades, dress respectably and speak in an intelligible manner?

@theclockstickin Who buys wood stamps? Are you telling me that Farrah Gray is an anomaly? Where do you think I got the $500? I worked at Pizza Hut for it. I kept that job until I found a better one and then a better one. My mother grew up in a housing project in Marietta, Ga and she made something out of her life. No one of able mind and body has any excuse for failure, period. School spending? Is that going to fix it?

Barack can dance.
I would never even think of putting a thug like 2PAC on the same level as Dr. King I have examined 2PACs character and found it lacking. Kids in the suburbs getting cars and going on vacation? How is that any of mine his or your business. I grew up in the suburbs and I had to buy my cars. 1st car 1977 Cutlass Supreme $500 and I had to put a transmission in it. Sure. There are kids that get all that stuff but but most people I know had to take out loans for college.

@MrSteveParr have you ever taken a sociology class? or studied the economic conditions that someone in the ghetto goes through compared to what someone in the suburbs go through? So what, you bought a car for 500 dollars...some people don't have the 500 dollars to spend on a car but rather on food stamps and rent. think about the education system and how the government divides its money in public schooling depending on the neighborhood it's in

@theclockstickin The united states spends more money than any other country on earth to educate children and we rank 35th in the world last I heard. But im sure it will all be better if we just spend more money. Do you really think that spending more money makes a disruptive student shut up and listen? A huge problem with urban schools is parental support, teacher turnover and teacher recruitment.

@MrSteveParr wasn't talking about spending more money. i was talking about the division of government money to public schools on different regions of the map. u should kno for a fact more money goes into public schools in better neighborhoods. the reason teachers dont give a fuck is because their students don't give a fuck. and why do their students not give a fuck? cuz they don't have any incentive to succeed when they live in places that deliberately prohibit growth
