Its amazing, you're damned if you do, damned if you don't. If he took it too seriously, he's a ham. If he didn't, he's unappreciative. I dunno, for me, Bret's always been the toughest hero to root for because he brought a seemingly real style to the table. Not the mic noise, not the promos, just tried and true skills to the ring. Always be a fan of his!

@prai2k5 The fact that Bret Hart never had a big money match with Hogan in wcw is a testament to how shit the booking was. I think Bret has every right to complain as he was the hottest property im wrestling when he came to wcw in 97!

@ryjesse also it isn't just my opinion a lot of the wrestlers say Bret was an ego maniac, demanded his own dressing room, private car, whilst his brother the legend that is Owen Hart changed with the boys and traveled with fans, even Brets family preferred the company of others Bulldog and the Anvil ran with Nash and HBK, in his book Bret says his family turned on him for real and he doesn't know why, so did the boys in the back also turn on him for nothing.

@ryjesse When Bret was champion the first time the fans didn't care they wanted Hogan back, hence Hogan came back and took the title from Yokozuna after Yoko had beaten Bret, then Undertaker became more popular than Bret, during his fourth title run HBK would become the fan favourite and just after that Austin started his meteoric rise, I agree Bret was a highly decorated champion, but he was only ever the champion as the big names had taken a break to focus on acting or had jumped ship

@2prosperNow wtf? That is 100% wrong. Bret Hart never jobbed out of any Match or decline to work with any superstar. Unlike HBK. Bret hart wrestled over 300 days a year, ur lil statement is clearly full of holes.

@LumpyAdams you got it. Only reason WWF was so big world wide is.. HITMAN. Bret Hart sold out shows by just his name internationally. When Bret took time off after WM 12 vs HBK... Bret still wrestled few months over sea's becuz vince needed him to work matches. Bret hart was biggest wrestler from 1992-1997 It began in 1991 when wwf said "You have ore fan mail then Hulk Hogan" which was shocking find.

@TelleyECW Hitman DID NOT quit. He was released because he could not wrestle anymore due to his concussion in his head. Hitman needed a release because his wrestling career was over.

@kriskaos1981 Remember make it your opinion. Bret Harts name was biggest because he was 5 time champion, KOTR winner, RR winner, 2 time IC and Tag champ, wrestle rof the year 2 years in a row, voted fan favorite 2 years in a row... so wth are you talking about? Hitman is one of the biggest EVER worldwide superstars. WWF needed Bret to work when they went over sea's and such cuz he sold shows out. WCW needed Bret to cross into canada N' world wide. Hitman was world star not just USA

No matter how you spin it wcw treated bret far worse than wwf did.....why? Bret made his name there or became iconic should I say....wcw was to caught up on the nwo angle it wasn't even funny.

I always thought it was interesting how they made wrestling storylines out of real emotions.
This guy got fucked over by the two biggest companies in wrestling and hes still the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be.

Sooooo many wrestlers are underused/misused and others get the push. Hitman is one of my all time favourites and yeah, his career was basically snubbed out early and in a disrespectful way. However I think he made himself look worse when he did come back recently and have the match with Vince McMahon I thought the whole storyline was sad as are most of WWE's storylines the last many years. I liked him and Shawn burrying the hatchet, that was kinda cool. Best there is, was and ever will be.
