The section on which you stood--which used to be the main ranch w/ the movie sets/corral/stables/Spahn's house, etc. --is Santa Susana Pass State Historic Park. There's a map u can find if u google

& click the "INSERT COVER" link. The informative pdf file has a map on p. 47. The church DOES own some of the land east & south of the creek. I've heard they also own the "back ranch" section to the west, where the ball park is.
