The G Forces were more than the chassis was designed to handle. When the tire went flat, the weight of the car went to one side & at that same instant the chutes were released with explosive force severing the cotter pins holding the chassis together with devastating results to John Force. Had the cotter pins not severed, John Force wouldn't have been injured.

Man this was a scary crash, i was like "OH MY GOD"!!! i mean it scared the crap out of me, but hes gonna be back, for championship #15, but i'm starting to think that that paint job might be unlucky or something, but thats just me, i'm just glad that both of them were ok, back in like 1960 something my grandpa's car's clutch exploded once and almost took his leg off, the car was a fuel altered named pure heaven 2, i really wish i could of seen him race though
