Hello fellow basenji owners! I feel very fortunate that Snoop is such a vocal dog! She will only sing like this if I am playing trombone, but she will still yodel, growl, and even bark just if she is excited or wants attention. She can be a bit food aggressive at times, but with supervision I can always correct her. She now is 4 years old, and still a very healthy, happy, and loving dog.

@princessrmhb Can't be done except by maybe another Basenji and it has to be in person and they have to like each other.....that's really important as they can be friends for year's and then suddenly someone gets offended and the friendship is very over. My girl Pipet growls protecting food, but it is also very much like "KELSO THE TALKING BASENJI WAKING UP)>video name. when she was young little girls (humans) giggling at her make her yodel just a tiny bit, but they either do or don't.

@princessrmhb Try showing her these videos, when my girl was young she yoddled 2 times because she heard it on the computer, but I think she was also remembering her litter mates as she has never done it since. Try whistles (like police ones) or howl at her yourself.....that worked for my sister two girls. Maybe they just like to have accompaniment....such vanity don't ya know! They all have that in common....LOLOLOL!

She's a doll....a spot on ringer for my 3 year old Pipet. You can see her here in "Crazy Basenji Has a Cactus Nest" > Though my girl never makes a sound, absolutely silent....except when she kills something and is eating it, then she'll protect it till she is done.....little bugger!
