It's Final Fantasy 6. It was only introduced as Final Fantasy 3 on the North American Territory and the rest of the World while the Japanese hid FF2, FF3 and FF5. This went unnoticed until 1997 when FF7 was released. The cat was out of the bag, and SQUARE ENIX made remakes of the previous titles which they hid for almost 6 years.

It's not Final Fantasy 6. My cartridge says 3. If yours says six go back to China.
