Pierino Como was born the son of Italian immigrants in western Pennsylvania in 1912. What a wonderful talent and what a wonderful man he was. Perry was very doubtful about giving up his steady job as a barber to test the waters as a singer. So glad he took the risk.

@tallyshark It is a toss up between Bobby darin and perry perry was great Bobby both giants... Perry had a smoothness to his voice that not many could come close to...

Smooth as silk. Thanks, Mom, for exposing me to this supertalent when I was 5 years old!

Wasn't this song at the beginning of Good Morning Vietnam?

Mr. C was sure a class act. Miss you Perry. Love his singing.
Thank You.

Love this song. And was no nice that Perry came out with this one later in his career - as I was a teen when this came out and I was a little kid when I first had a crush on him.

I became a fan of Perry Como when "It's Impossible" was in the charts in the early 1970s and i've remained a fan ever since - much to the amusement of the kids i grew up with!
Pure Class.....you can't manufacture it: you've either have it or you don't!
Perry had it in spades!
God bless the man!
I think Perry Como was the greatest crooner of the 20th century. Notice I said "crooner." Sinatra was a great singer, as was Bing Crosby, and the debate would be among these three, but for sheer melodic crooning, I go with Como.

Perry Como - what a treat! This does remind me of "Fever." His voice can melt butter! The Anita Kerr Singers provide a great back-up. Thanks Basil :-)

A great combination of the smoothest lead and smoothest backing vocals.
