Beautiful insight into Mozart. Only point I'd add is to compare that painful 2nd mvt. with the 2nd mvt. of the E Minor violin sonata k.304 -- same dynamic to both. Piano introduces the theme, which evokes a loneliness beyond desolation, past darkness. In both cases, Andsnes uses the perfect word that applies: "holy."
I'd encourage people to keep a very close eye/ear on Andsnes. He just turned 40 and is entering a new phase of his career, shedding the Grieg/Nowegian typecast and blossoming on.
