    It is has been scientifically proven that it's beneficial to the baby, maybe not for toddlers (as it doesn't make a difference at that age). Chewed food pass along beneficial microbes to the baby, as well as building their immune system. This is a big reason why small kids today gets sick easier than their parents when they were little. I was fed chewed food everyday when I was a baby 23 years ago, but it does sound gross to hear about it today. My mom even remind me that sometimes -.-" !
