This is SWARTA!!!

@ Silentjungleblood: It would have been better if you'd done some investigations on the reality of fighting in 15th century armour with point-sharp swords and sometimes tools shoven over the blades to grip and to prevent hand injuries for instance... (Truth, you don't see those in the clip). Yet, a bit of online-searching for answers would have saved you from publicly displaying your ignorance on the subject. Hope this sets things straight... Kind regards.

This is cool. I do Jujitsu, and Europe actually has alot of the same moves as Jujitsu (Japanese grappling used by Samurai) I guess there's only so many ways to bend someones arm the wrong way, and so many ways to throw/sweep people onto the ground lol We all have the same body, so I guess if anyone really looked into the art of screwing up people's joints, alot of the moves would look the same lol

@TaskForceSixTwoSix I for one thought it was really good but if you think you can do a better job then by all means post your OWN video.

@gurkfisk89 I don't feel bad it just looked like a swabian or bavarian dialect of some sort. Thanks for the info.

Mostly early new high german. You don't have to feel bad for not understand it, even if it's close to modern german no one will blame you for not understand a text that was written in the 15th and 16th century. =)

What dialect is this video written in, can't understand a word of it.

I practice myself some martial arts, I'm not a professional, and I'm more than sure that these techniques are real (taken from battlefields or duels).
They remind me, tough, of "fianl moves". These types of moves are for masters and only when the opportunity will rise without compromising self security.
If one of these techniques miss the target you will be in great danger.

Another pathetic display of once great European martial arts... Please God, stop uploading your videos to youtube all of you unskilled slobs. You make the techniques look stupid and ridiculous. If you can't do the techniques perfectly, THEN DON'T UPLOAD THEM TO YOUTUBE...

Hello, thank you for your comments. The armour is a replica of a late 15th century Gothic one. It's made out of steel and weights about 25 to 30 kg. Both material and weight are realistic to the time period. Concerning your second question: yes, you are always restricted in your maneuverability but you get used to it and when the armour is really made well, you won't lose flexibility....

Excellent work! Man, there are just not enough videos on historical armored combat like this.
When you guys practiced these moves and interpreted them, did you find risking injury to be a major issue to deal with? My impression was that the nature of the moves presents a very high risk of joint injury, especially with the extra weight from the armor.

@tiamat9989: thanks for the comments! Yes well, when fighting in armour, the joints are definitely places to target and they don't need that much of pressure due to the way the (our) armour is made. I didn't find the risk of getting injured (at the joints) higher then when these locks are applied on one without armour. The real problem lies in the inability of defending yourself against the next blows/stabs to the openings.... and that’s one of the reasons to apply locks...
