Both very cool....of course, I could see why Goodson and the powers that be probably didn't want fiddles all over the place...It was already "Feud-y" enough, why overdo it.

I think these unused themes would have made super cool commercial outro/intro themes, but I'm glad that Goodson/Isreal went with the final version of the 1976 theme. It's sounds cleaner and classier. Don't get me wrong, I like these unused ones, just not as the main theme. Thanks for posting these! Does anyone have a clean recording of the 1976 electric guitar face off cue? I've been looking for that one for YEARS!!

I think from the style of the music and the striking similarties of this theme to the pilot theme, that this was unused original music, honestly.

Feud did air in syndicated reruns in 1985-86, Viacom did put out a "Best of Family Feud" package for syndication that season. WOR in NYC aired it weeknights at 8:30PM when Mets baseball didn't preempt it.

In the FF section, theres 3 themes that are called "unused". 1 of them is a game cue, 2 of theme are opening music.
