The date was March 27, 1982 at Red Carpet Celebrity Lanes, Milwaukee, Wis. Earl Anthony was up against Jeff Mattingly in the semi-final match of the Miller High Life Open. Mattingly was coming off of a 236-223 victory over Marshall Holman. Jeff appears to be using a hard shell ball, doesn't get much hook, but has great strike power. Earl Anthony in this match and the championship match was as strong and determined as I've ever seen him. Earl shot 537 for his two games in winning the tournament, which he earned $23,000 for his victory. Unfortunately on March 15, 1987, Jeff Mattingly was killed in an automobile accident. I hope you enjoy the action.

The only thing more pathetic than people believing in fairy tales is people that feel it's their responsibility to educate and chastise other people about their faith in something that can be neither proven or disproven. Not sure a discussion about a dead bowler with his daughter involved is the appropiate forum to rant about your newly found information on God. Congrats, you might be You Tubes asshole of the year. Now go jump of a bridge to spare us any more of ur babble.

  • @smoot0420 Yes a seatbelt would have saved his life and he probably would still be here today. But what can you do now, nothing. He will always be in my heart and i will always miss him very much. :)

  • @smoot0420

What a brainwashed little child you are.

It's not my fault you can't deal with facts of real life (and therefore you have to live your pathetic life clinging to fairy tales, thinking you hear voices from a cloud.)

    You're done.

  • @1976hiphopgirl1

to think that maybe a seatbelt might have saved his life just adds salt to the wound,

    lifes abitch !!!

  • @McRat1968

    what a turd you are.

  • @1976hiphopgirl Dear Lori, I'm sorry that it took this long to realize that you posted this about your father. I was a big fan of his back in the day. I will never forget when they mentioned his death on the pro bowlers tour, it was shocking to hear. I believe I've posted all the matches of him bowling that I have. I'm sure your honored that people in the bowling community still remember Jeff. He was a great bowler! God Bless!

  • @smoot0420 continued.. and he wasn't wearing a seat belt, that's why he flew out the window, and ended up passing away on march 15th 1987 at 6 am in the morning. I didn't get too see him before he passed, his side of the family said that i wouldn't of have reconized him because of the impact from the crash.

  • @smoot0420 ...Hey smooth this 1976hiphopgirl1 the same person just so you don't get confused. I couldn't remember my password to my orginal username so had to do a new one. But anyways to answer your question, my dad was driving home one night from work and he had been drinking too much that night and decided that he was going to drive home. Well while driving home on the highway towards his house, he hit a guard rail and went over, and ended up flying out the back window.

just saw this guy bowling against pete webber in 1982 on espn classic. never heard of him before today but he sparked my interest. sorry you lost pops at such a young age, that sucks. how did your father pass if you don't mind me asking ?

  • Jeff was one of nicest and most fun people you could ever meet. There is still a tournament held in Tacoma, Washington held in his name each year I believe called "The Mattingly Swiss" which is a 5 person mens and 5 person womens swiss format event. It's sold out every year. He's remembered and honored to this day.
