Welcome To The Ranch

Sturgeon River Ranch, located on the Wild West Side of beautiful Prince Albert National Park, is a place where work and play are combined into one exciting adventure after another.

Saddle up and head into Prince Albert National Park to view Canada's only free ranging wild Plains bison still within their historic range. You may also encounter elk, moose, deer, wolves, bear and the countless species of birds and waterfowl that inhabit this beautiful transition Ecoregion. Perhaps spend an afternoon on the sandy beaches of Nesslin Lake, or enjoy the peaceful pace of Ness Creek. Take in more typical ranch activities like brandings and cattle drives. After a day of working cattle, maybe catch your supper at Tie Lake or swim with the loons at Ness Lake. Or just settle in, have a cup of coffee, and hang out with Gord and his cats as he teaches you their names, which are his favourites, and which cat starred in what video.

Unleash your adventurous self during one of our exciting multi-day outback horse pack trips. Stay in a rustic cabin at Ness Creek or a beautiful lakefront yurt at Nesslin Lake with our partners at Ness Core Ventures.

If you are already staying with one of our wonderful partners in and around Prince Albert National Park, we also offer day trips on both the west (from the Ranch) and east (near Waskesiu) sides of the Park.

Whatever you choose, you can be sure that we start each day with a big smile and a hearty breakfast and finish each day with a wonderful supper followed by a campfire, telling stories and singing songs under the Northern Lights about the day's adventures.

Learn to yodel and listen as the coyotes howl back.

Nature is all around.

Come see the way it was...when we took care of each other...when we took care of the earth.
