I recently benched the phaser and rt-20. I now have a JHS klone (Klon clone) and the new proguitarshop tc nova alter ego delay. My board always changes!

What compressor does Mayer use? Does he use the demeter compulator or or the keeley compressor? Or a different one? Thanks.

@dbonedan He uses the 3 knob analogman compressor. Not the bicomp, just the regular one. You can see it on the premierguitar rig rundown on him. Its a gray pedal with 3 knobs and a red LED.

@libertyfalls Any difference between the analog man 3 button large comprossor and small comprossor? I see both on their web site. Not sure if there are any differences besides the size.

geting as close as possible to the mayer tone. I think the only way to get closer is to get his head his heart and his hands. Iam so going to buy a guitar from you, just have to save money.....

@ede93 It does both actually. If you have it in the front of your chain like Mayer does it will boost the guitar output volume before it hits any of the pedals. It will push the overdrive pedals harder. The clean boost is the perfect blend of power and tone. With the boost you have the power of a strong set of humbuckers but the tone of vintage single coils. It pushes the amp like high output pickups but sounds vintage.

does the katana do anything to tone? or strictly just volume?
