The presidents of The American College of Greece and Anatolia College of Thessaloniki signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Greek branch of the Fulbright Foundation, under the terms of which Fulbright will inform its various constituencies and the Greek public about the English language certification tests that ACG and Anatolia offer in cooperation with Michigan State University (MSU -- Certificate of English Language Competency and MSU -- Certificate of English Language Proficiency).
ACG and Anatolia, the two largest and most historic non-profit American educational institutions in Europe, have exclusive rights to the MSU English language exams in Southern and Northern Greece respectively.
The MSU exams are administered in May and December each year, and have been designed by MSU to fit the needs of the Greek public, with sensitivity to the cultural and age requirements of test takers. Certificates issued by MSU following successful completion of the tests are recognized by the Greek state (ASEP) as language qualifications sufficient for employment in the public sector.
The memorandum with Fulbright was signed by ACG President, Dr. David G. Horner, Anatolia President, Dr. Hans Giesecke, and Artemis A. Zenetou, Executive Director of the Fulbright Foundation in Greece. The signing took place at ACG's neoclassical building in Plaka, the historic neighborhood of downtown Athens.
