This is unique. I've seen The Who nine times(I'm not Quin881, he's my son, he's the redhead bass player in video on his account. He's seen the Only once), including w/KM in Zurich. The "Lead-In" is almost radically different. Truly a great song, like most Who songs it works better live, than on record.

As I said on the the video of this song from The festival of lights in Lucarno, 2006, I think Pete would say "It's My fucking song, I fuckin' wrote so, Fuck, I can fucking do whatever the fucking hell I want to do?".

I DO like this video!! I've been a big WHO fan since their inception. I've only seen them 10 times/even been backstage. Thanks for posting!

Of course i do care; as long as it incites people giving me thumbs down (including you), it's worth it. BOOM!

shakey as it may be...if we had video like this, when we were kids...we would rule the world!!!long live rock, which goes hand in hand...with THE WHO!!! in the sixties and early seventies nothing but vinyl..in a one room country shack...a thousand miles from nowhere.......

So this was from The Who's show at Tweeter Center on July 3rd, 2000? It was the best Who show I ever saw (and I have seen 10 Who concerts). Does anyone have more footage from this show? If so, please post (if you can).
Thanks for posting this!!!!!
John

That's all I've got from that show on my hard drive. Yeah, I was at this show, too. We got to see a very special performance. They had never done that medley before, and haven't done it since. It's a one-off. They radically altered "My Generation" that show, too.

they have been turning my generation into a medley with cry if you want, bargain etc. for about 15 years

That's not what I mean by "radically altered." I mean it was only recognizable by the lyrics. Pete totally transformed the riff. At first I thought he was playing "Magic Bus" for the second time that night. It was bizarre. Since Pete totally abandoned the main riff of the song, Entwistle also radically altered his famous bass breaks. It's unlike any other version of the song I have ever heard.
