Why don't U let the the girls perform cremation rituals

In India, girl child is being killed massively.

The number of girls has decreased substantially. Only 793 girls have remained there against 1000 boys in Punjab, one of the most advance and richest state of India.

I have suggested some ways to bring the society out of this problem.

One is, we should break the age old idea that only the boys have the right to perform the last rituals for the dead. We should allow our girls also to perform the last rituals for the dead. We should break the idea that soul of the dead remains at peace or goes ahead to its destination only if the last rituals are performed by a son of the dead only. Due to this belief which does not have any scientific backing a lot many people of our society go ahead in trying to give birth to a son.

Before adequate contraceptives they used to increase the population, these days they use the contraceptives or go for an abortion when ever they come to know there is a girl in the belly of the mother. Thus they go on increasing the sex ratio gap.

The second method to tackle this problem is, we should increase earning opportunities for the girls .We have done a lot many things for this purpose as we can see girls working at petrol pumps, we can see girls driving auto rickshaws and taxies. Yet a lot is to be done in this field. Moreover we should make our society safer for women as much as possible.

If all of these steps are taken appropriately, within days we will be able not only to decrease the gap of sex ratio but get rid of the Dowry problem also.

redloveone, ofcourse a girl can cremate and there is nothing wrong in it ,but it has every thing to do with religion,All the rituals done while cremating are done under this or that religion AND only these so called religions are responsible that only Males are involved in cremation.If female are involved in cremation equally ,they will have better place in society---How and why--- I have made clear in this video.

Cremation will always be done by men because that is how it has been done for ever! Talk about the politics, talk about how we should advance, but dont EVER try to change what people respect, and believe in. you think girls are always loweredd in indian society but they are considered the "LAXMI" of the house, how would it look if Maa Laxmi cremated the dead! Think about it! dont attempt to change anything religious!

I believe in talking about not only politics but these so called religions which are nothing but set of superstitions only.

And I do not care what people respect,there respect for such beliefs/superstitions is only harming the whole society.

well if its like this, in my opinion thats is wrong!.because of religous reasons they cant?. who thought of al these 'religious reasons'?. this is 1 of many reason why i dont believe in my religion that much :/ fortunatly things have became more civilized now but stil, if its something to do with religion, im against it.
