Spain on Monday took control of the EU naval mission off the coast of Somalia. The European Union mission is designed to protect shipping from piracy attacks in the Gulf of Aden and off the Somali coast.

It's called an EU `double standard´.
Question : How many European warships have stopped and checked trawlers flying the EU flag and fishing illegaly in Somalien waters ?
Answer : Not one.
According to Nick Davis of the Gulf of Aden Transit Security Organisation,illegal fishing and dumping of waste by European ships in Somalien waters are major reasons for piracy in this area.

Since Ireland joined the EU (1973) weve received 50billion in funding to build roads etc..but since 1973, 200billion euro worth of fish have been taken from our waters..our fishing industry has been totally destroyed-which is made all the more startling as half the fish eaten by Europeans comes from Irish waters, yet only 4% is allowed to be caught by Irish fishermen, whilst 96% is allocated to the Spanish, Portuguese, French etc..Irish fishermen are prosecuted for the tiniest of infringements
