0:23 Here is the historic site where the Tangni dynasty, the birthplace of Dongmyong, was.

0:48 Baekumbo historic site is of the Bronze age, which is managed strictly by the Chinese government.
It is the most extensive historic site in modern north-eastern China and shows the birth of the Bronze age in the region. Here a huge amount of historic remains ranging from 15C BC to 3C BC were excavated.

One important thing is that excavated remains dated between about 5C BC and 3C BC in Baekumbo site and Buyeo remains in the same era became so similar to each other : three legged pots and other earthenwares.

The Baekumbo cultural area is acknowledged as Tangni dynasty, birth place of Dongmyong, in the academic circles on the basis that the later Baekumbo remains became similar to Buyeo dynasty remains.

2:18 The Songnun plain (松嫩平原) is believed to be related with Tangni dynasty. It is considered that the people of Dongmyong left Tangni because of political conflict and built their own dynasty,Buyeo, across the Songwha river (松花江).

2:48 The documentary team is moving to northern Baekumbo cultural area in search of Dongmyong's birthplace.

This is a folk house in the Buyu district. It really looks like a imitation of Korean folk house in a Korean farm village. Ducks, Dogs and Hens in the yard ari so familiar scenes for us Koreans.

Even a millstone (Korean traditional style) is found.
Would this kind of traditional houseware have anything to do with Tangni or Buyeo?

There are a lot of smaller ones. Almost every house has one. This one has been handed from my farther. My father is at home now. My father used this one too.

4:12 Here we got information about the origin of the place name, Buyu.

Buyeo dynasty originated from Tangni of north Yi. According to historical record, Tangni of the north Yi flourished in the O-yuyi (烏裕爾河) river region. Buyeo dynasty originated in the O-yuyi river and the sound O-yuyi changed into the sound 'Buyeo'.

According to the scholar, the name Buyu was named after O-yuyi river around which the Buyu district is ; also the name Buyeo, similar sound to Buyu, came from the O-yuyi river.

He presents another evidence to support his statement that the Buyu district is the main territory of Tangni, birthland of Dongmyong : in Buyu district, remains similar to Buyeo remains were discovered. He said these clay pots are the strongly reliable evidence to recognize the Buyu district as main territory of Tangni.

These common remains unearthened in both areas, Buyu district (in modern China) and Buyeo dynasty territory are reliable evidences that Buyeo dynasty and Tangni dynasty was connected each other.

Now, the Buyu district is a very important site to study Buyeo dynasty and Tangni dynasty.

6:15 Buyu district in Heungryong province was probably the main land of Tangni where Dongmyong was born and raised. He must have missed his homeland and named his own dynasty probably after the O-yuyi river in his homeland.

6:38 From the Buyu district in the Heungryong province to Kilim province (吉林省) across the Songwha river, It was a 2000 km journey in search of the origin of Dongmyong of Buyeo. 2000 years ago, Donmyong probably would have followed the same route to build Buyeo, which we KBS documentary traveled along.

Before Jumong there was Dongmyong and his dynasty Buyeo was a great nation that lasted for 700 years, occupying the Macnhria. The powerful nation Buyeo also had great influence on the foundation of ancient Korean nations.

7:36 This is a diplomatic letter from Baekje emperor Gaero to Northern dynasty emperor fo the Xianbeit) : "We Baekje along with Koguryeo originated from Buyeo." Not only Koguryeo but Baekje also had their root in Buyeo, which caused fierce conflict over which one was legitimate successor to Buyeo. And this is the key to why Jumong, founder of Koguryeo, was titled Dongmyong and worshiped as Dongmyong.
