Wrote this one earlier this month (July 2008) - an irreverent song for the boys! ;-)

Honey don't be waiting at the station
it's a date I won't be making
I may be back tomorrow
there's been a slight delay
Met some friends and we got to thinking
it was time for community drinking
I'll do my public duty
and then I'll be on my way
I know we were going to the movies
to see a film romantic and groovy
I need to see that
like I need a hole in the head
I'm with the boys, having a good time
making noise -- when am I not? I'm
thinking of you baby
you wouldn't change me anyway
Must support the British economy
I'm not some tea-total pious wannabe
pubs are sinking
gotta do some drinking today (hey hey)
I know I have been a bad boy
but I know you wouldn't be a killjoy
that's why I love you
and I'll be back to stay

Perhaps you haven't been friendly enough ;-) It could be a difficult visit for me as I'll be deprived of Stella and I'll be forced to sample lots of different 'real ales' with weird and wonderful names. Life can be tough at times! ;-)

I agree it's a worthy cause! I've managed to persuade eight like-minded individuals to accompany me on a visit to Hook Norton Brewery as they are equally concerned about the struggling British economy!  ;-)
