  • Dude, you can't even afford a new banjo or a second camera and you're giving us free lessons? You must be a man of constant sorrow! Anyhow, thanx a dozen, this is awsum.

  • @jeffbwhittington It's not a bad thing. I am blessed enough to be a musician, and I do have some beautiful guitars. I have had offers for endorsement models from banjo makers that I don't like, but I would rather not endorse an instrument I don't like. I don't consider myself a serious banjo player anymore, and it really isn't that important to me. I have been well off and I have been poor, and I really don't feel "sorrow" in either state.

This life isn't the big picture.

  • Hi again, Rob.

I was just trying to figure something out; the forward roll after the slide from the 3rd fret of the D, or 4th string, to the 5th fret; which strings do you play the roll on please? And there are 3 forward rolls open before you slide back on the D string in your version, am I correct in thinking?

    Thank you, kindly, Rob.

You're an awesome teacher, by the way; I learn more in just half of one vid of yours than I could learn in the whole expert village lot put together :D!

  • @gauldgalliersuk Just go to 4:52. It is all in slow motion. Sometimes it is hard to tell that I'm going to cover something again, but I always spell things out slowly in these vids, even if it doesn't seem like it at first. The part that is glossed over at 4:15 is repeated in slow motion at 4:52, and I also play it in context to the other portions at that part. I hope this helps.

  • @gauldgalliersuk You are very welcome. I hope it helps.

Oh, yeah. Sure. Um 3:59 is the slide I'm talking about. The roll I'm asking which notes to pick is te oneyou do at 4:15.

    Thanks :D.

  • @gauldgalliersuk Sorry. I get about 400 to 500 questions a week on my videos. I tried to make a point of going over the questions and answering them, but it became a full time job. I spent about 3 hours a day at it. I wish I had time to go look for the place you're talking about, but unless you can give me a minute and second mark, I won't have time.

  • Hi Rob, you have a great gift of teaching.Thank you so much for giving your time and talent.

  • Ok, and can you write out a tab or something because it's confusing as to what finger you use and on what fret
