So, I've spent about 20 minutes trying to make sense of this song.

It's obviously in reference to Beethoven's Eroica Symphony, originally dedicated to Napoleon before he declared himself emperor. At that point, Beethoven ripped up the title sheet, renaming it "Eroica."

Maybe it's a questioning of the societal urge to accept things at face value.

Every Consul has a potential to become a corrupted emperor. Every pop-culture figure must be questioned.
