  • LMAO!!! @ the Galactica MUSIC!!! She is NOT a CYLON!!! hahaha...dear god, she could be!!

  • @cojute06 The US has been in debt since it was formed, except for 4 years. Massively in debt and people are MASSIVELY Obese. The Baby Boomers have BOOMED. Suddenly we have a MASSIVE elderly population, they are paid up, but their health care costs are ENORMOUS. 300 lbs, stroke, heart attack, gastic by pass, diabetes, kidney failure you name it.

US health care is TWICE as expensive as other Countries. Can ANYTHING be changed without MASSIVE Bitching? The same old thing without end =BROKE

  • @GeorgiaKev Hurricane = Bad. Board up house then skedaddle. Not too much to remember. As I said before, for-profit weather services exist and will stick around.

We became an advanced nation, not through "chance of precipitation", but through industrial might.

We became a powerful nation not through citizens crying "the Government should fix that and take care of me" but by them saying "What can I do to better my own life?" the answer isn't becoming a Welfare Queen. Programs need to be cut.

  • @kristoffersayshi (CONT'D)....The National Weather Service doesn't only tell us "hey, a hurricane is coming!". They do research on weather patterns so we as a people can be better informed about the dangers of mother nature. Same with the CDC. Research is VERY expensive and more often than not fails to yield useful information (although the information it DOES provide is priceless). Adequate funding for research is vital if we are to remain an advanced nation.

  • @GeorgiaKev Hmm ... there was no FDA, National Weather Service, nor FDIC when this nation was founded.

With the FDA people are eating contaminated foods. They allow meat packagers to use carbon monoxide gas mixtures during the packaging process which prevents discoloration, and hides signs of spoilage. Want to know the weather? AccuWeather and other for-profit services will still be around, and unless the town heads are incompetent babies that depend on the feds, the tornado sirens will sound.

  • @kristoffersayshi Considering I can't find North Oaks, Michigan on any map or any internet search, there must be about 50 people in the town. However, with no FDA they would be subject to eating contaminated food or taking dangerous medications, without the national weather service they could not know of tornados which could tear their lots apart, and with no FDIC, they'd lose all their money if the town's only bank were to fail. With no government, the mafia will run this country.

  • @GeorgiaKev

SS consumes a large portion of the budget. The US has to live within it's means and that means making deep cuts.

North Oaks, Michigan - the City owns no roads nor any property. Each lot owns half the road in front of it. They aren't having problems. If there's demand for roads, parks, medicine and there's money to be made, then the market will accommodate them. Take the black market for instance, endangered species, drugs, slaves, it's grim but true - money is a powerful motivator.

  • @kristoffersayshi S.S. only makes up a small portion of your retirement income. The majority of it comes from your own private investments. Privatize highways? How would that work? Will we pay a toll every time you turn onto a new road? Who decides which roads will be built and where? Parks won't be preserved if they're privatized, they will be turned into high-rise office & condo sites, and NO ONE will pay for medical research because there's virtually ZERO profit in doing so.

  • @GeorgiaKev The Government is not a charity. The Government shouldn't baby her citizens. The citizens should be responsible for their own selves and their own retirement, if they lose money in a crash, life sucks, should have made better choices. I'm against bailouts, every action that the Government takes, besides War, harms the economy. I'm for privatization of the highways and parks and I'm sure that private companies will continue medical research.

  • @kristoffersayshi The purpose of Social Sec. was so that people would have SOME money set aside and available to them in their old age. It was to lessen the effects of future depressions. Privatizing S.S. will only result in a government bailout when people lose all their retirement money in a stock market crash. As for cutting everything that don't do #'s 1 and 2 on you list, then we should shut down the interstate highways, close our national partks, and end funding for medical research.

  • @GeorgiaKev I say anyone, even high income earners, that doesn't want SS should have the option of not paying for it. So your argument is "Red States are hypocrites and therefore the entitlement programs should remain" I say those programs are too expensive and does not fill any of the two purposes of Government which are:

    1) Protect her citizens against foreign enemies

    and

    2) Protect her citizens from abuse by other citizens.

All programs that don't serve any of those purposes should be cut
