A peaceful protest in the countryside, against the plans to build a new coal fired power station at Kingsnorth, was swamped with police in an attempt to bully and scare away the protest.

  • I am sure you are right that the residents waved at the police too, my point was that they weren't anti the protesters as some people have suggested. The protest at the end of my film shows in excess of 200 police being used to arrest 20 protesters, how badly are you expecting them to 'kick off?' So Far the only channel pages I have come across that have minimal info on are those of pro-police, anti-protest users, which leads me to suspect they are not regular users. To be blunt you are police.

  • I must agree with the other comments. Spot on, the police did a fantastic job, worked hard and did long hours. And yes, I am a local resident. I was not happy with the protesters coming to where I live. But thanks to the work of the police. I felt safe to. (I aint a copper either.) Bravo, police.

  • As I said on replies to other comments my problem isn't with individual police, but with the tactics and strategy used. If you are a local resident you will know the protesters didn't come to where you live, but a field a few miles away. The residents I met were very happy to see us, many stood outside their houses and waved us on as we passed. You say you are not police, but isn't it funny that everyone commenting here has an empty channel page, minimum info, set up to plant negative feed-back.

  • Last comment is on the money. Peaceful protest??? Sadly you need to look it up and learn the meaning of the word! Not only that nearly all of the locals did not like what you were doing. Many of them rely on it for work and many have families. Police did a good job, if you did yours like you shouls they would not be there.

  • Peaceful means non-violent, as a trained journalist my grasp of the language isn't too bad. The locals with families are theones with most to osse if the new plant is coal, as asthma levels amongs children are already well above average, and will increase. alternative power sources could supply jobs and a healthy future for thier kids. Sorry I don't get your first point, or your last or I would respond.

  • ...plus... if you hadn't edited the bits before the cuffs went on then everyone could see that these are the unpeaceful ones who kick off and are rightly brought to justice. As for random raids on your camps the police have to follow far too strict protocol just to gain warrants for these so they are no doubt well deserved! I'd love the police to publish their videos of the protest - the uncut versions showing that the troublemakers are rightfully apprehended. (And no i am not in the police!)

  • the only editing I did on this footage was due to having to turn off the camera to save the battery, and the limit of time Youtube allows for films. there was no violence on this part of the protest, and I have seen nothing to convince me there was any elsewhere. the people arested were sitting quietly by a gate. what I show and the figures stated are as accurate as possible, but of course the film is polemic in its interpretation.

  • wow, hippies that are against the police are pathetic....

  • @crushedvideo more propeganda

  • @panther590 and don't you think any action at all, even a peacefull action causes problems to someone? There's always somebody on the other end of the line. Which doesn't mean people like these shouldn't be questioning the governments policy, is it?

  • @laathetlevenvloeien peaceful protests i havent got a problem with its those who delibratly decide agregvated tresspass and damage property, cause problems, cause trouble, that i have a bitter dislike for

  • @panther590 and can you tell why they should be too?

  • i fail to see how protesters were CRUSHED by the police. They police were just doing their job. besides, some of them are special constables, so not a very large chunk out of the taxpayers money. without the police, civilian society would crumble. You should come live in Methil, up north in Scotland, you wouldnt want these yobs running loose.

  • batons, horses, dogs, riot police, intimidation, those protestors deserve to be treated that way

  • I wish that you environmentalists would question TOXIC Tom Corbett for Governor of PA. He is running for the Republican Nomination right now. He must be stopped.

Just Google Corbett and Sludge and you will read all you need to know. We don't have time to waste.

  • they try to control whit fear because they are afraid because they akso know WE are to many to control...in there new world order =D

  • the police have to clamp down hard with these protesters should of just used tear gas and beat the shit out of them fucken morons
